JAALAN BANI BU HASSAN: The second edition of the Al Hiran Camel Beauty Contest concluded in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate. The contest drew broad participation from camel owners and heritage enthusiasts. The two-day festival celebrates the significance of Omani traditions and the prized purebred camels of the region.


Festival supervisor Khamis bin Hamad al Awaisi noted strong community engagement and emphasised the event’s role in preserving cultural identity. He highlighted that this edition builds on the success of the inaugural event.


In the open 'Winter' race for young camels, 'Watan', owned by Saeed bin Jumaa al Sunaidy, clinched first place. 'Mahana', owned by Ghaleb bin Saeed al Rashidi, came in second, while 'Mubashara', owned by Nasser bin Saleh al Harsosi, secured third. — ONA
