KATHMANDU: The Women Leadership Conclave organised by the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (FWEAN) called for inclusive, green, and women-led economic growth, gathering prominent leaders from South Asia, China, and the UAE.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli emphasised that “without entrepreneurship, women and youth cannot move forward,” underscoring the importance of innovation and self-reliance.

FWEAN President Shova Gyawali highlighted the organisation’s 22-year journey empowering women through enterprise. “The government’s support for startups focused on women and youth has been very meaningful,” she noted, expressing hope that the conclave’s outcomes would benefit not just Nepal, but the entire South Asian region.

Other speakers stressed the need for digital and financial inclusion, climate-resilient businesses, and stronger cross-border collaboration to ensure women's contributions are recognised and amplified.

Panel discussions focused on climate change impacts on enterprises, building export-ready businesses, and harnessing AI for women entrepreneurs.

The event featured high-level delegates from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China, and the UAE, and reinforced the collective commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable economic development led by women.
