MUSCAT: Five people, including two Omanis and three Emiratis, lost their lives in a tragic three-vehicle collision near Maqshin, Dhofar Governorate, on Friday morning.


According to the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the accident occurred around 7 am on Sultan Said bin Taimur Road. Eleven people were also injured — among them two Omanis and nine Emiratis, including five children.


Police aviation units airlifted the injured and the deceased to Thamrait Hospital for immediate medical attention and further procedures.


Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, while emergency teams responded swiftly to provide critical aid at the scene.
