

Muscat: The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre (SQCCCRC), located within the University Medical City, has received international recognition for excellence in supportive care for cancer patient, which the first achievement of its kind in the Middle East.
This recognition confirms the Centre’s membership in an elite group of only 20 leading medical institutions worldwide dedicated to delivering the highest standards of comprehensive support and care for cancer patients.
The accolade was awarded by the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC), acknowledging the Centre’s distinguished approach and adherence to global standards in delivering advanced supportive care. This includes the integration of cutting-edge cancer treatments, palliative care, and physical and psychological support, all designed to enhance patients’ quality of life throughout their treatment journey.
The University Medical City administration stated that this achievement reflects its constant commitment to excellence and leadership in specialised healthcare delivery.
Looking ahead, the Centre aims to expand its initiatives in supportive cancer care, enhance professional training, and strengthen collaboration with global institutions. The recognition also paves the way for future contributions in research, continuous education, and innovative integrated care programmes.
