MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus signed three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in Muscat aimed at strengthening cooperation and facilitating technology transfer in the automotive and smart technology sectors.
The first MoU, signed between Karwa and Belarusian firm Amkodor, establishes a joint framework for industrial and commercial collaboration, enabling both parties to expand into markets across Oman, the GCC, and Africa.
The second MoU, also involving Karwa and Belarusian company MAZ, focuses on cooperation in the manufacture and distribution of transport vehicles, specialised equipment, and trailers. It includes joint market studies, marketing initiatives, and the development of a full production line at the Karwa Automobile Plant in Oman. The agreement also facilitates the transfer of technical expertise, training programmes, and technical support to build the capacity of national talent.
Representing Karwa at the signing was CEO Dr Ibrahim bin Ali al Balushi, with Aleksey Zanduk, Deputy General Manager of Marketing at Amkodor, and Alexander Atroshik, Deputy Commercial Director at MAZ, signing for their respective firms.
The third MoU, between the Omani National Engineering and Investment Company (ONEIC) and Belarusian firm Delivery Software, targets the deployment of cutting-edge digital solutions in Oman and the wider region. Areas of collaboration include ICT innovation, AI applications, fintech, and other digital services that enhance automation and operational efficiency. The agreement was signed by Engineer Aziz Al Hasani, ONIC’s General Manager of IT and E-Business, and Andrey Sudakov, CEO of Delivery Software.
The ceremony was attended by Abdul Salam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority, Dr Abdullah bin Masoud al Harthy, Honorary Consul of Belarus to Oman, and several senior officials from both nations.
These agreements stem from efforts by the Omani-Belarusian Joint Committee to strengthen strategic partnerships, promote knowledge exchange, and position Oman as a hub for high-quality investments and future-focused projects. — ONA
