JAALAN BANI BU ALI: The coastal areas of the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate witnessed increased tourist activities during the holiday.

The coastal areas saw relatively cool weather, clear air and dense fog, making them a favourite choice for many families, young people, and camping and surfing enthusiasts. A number of recreational activities at Al Ashkhara Beach, Asilah Tourist Park and the seafront of Al Haddah, attracted crowds of tourists, visitors and adventure and marine entertainment seekers from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.

Occupancy rates in hotels and tourist resorts reached more than 90 per cent. Al Sharqiyah South Governorate has 152 tourist facilities. Marine tourism is a top destination attracting tourists and visitors, especially during the summer, with the start of the summer tourist season, which begins in early July and continues until the end of August.

The coastal areas are also witnessing intensive efforts by relevant authorities to enhance natural resources and provide diverse tourism services and activities, coinciding with the third edition of Al Ashkhara Atmosphere Forum, which runs from July 16 to August 9, 2025. — ONA
