Salalah Mills Company signed an agreement to import 110,000 tonnes of wheat from Russia, with shipments expected to arrive in July and August, as part of its efforts to reinforce the Sultanate of Oman’s strategic grain reserves.

The initiative aims to enhance national food security amid evolving regional dynamics and to ensure continued availability of wheat in the local market.

In a statement, Eng Ahmed bin Amer al Shanfari, Acting CEO of Salalah Mills Company, said the agreement aligns with the company’s procurement plan for the second half of 2025.

He affirmed the management’s commitment to maintaining stable food supply chains across Oman.

Speaking to the Oman News Agency, he said Salalah Mills is one of the Sultanate of Oman’s foremost flour producers, with a production capacity of 1,500 tonnes per day and a storage capacity exceeding 200,000 tonnes.
