MUSCAT: ISG International proudly hosted Oman's first-ever TED-Ed event on May 28, marking its official recognition as the nation’s first TED-Ed School. A total of 34 enthusiastic learners participated in the TED-Ed programme, undergoing weeks of ideation, mentoring and peer collaboration. The journey culminated with 10 exceptional student speakers taking the stage to present powerful, original talks inspired by personal insights and global issues.

These talks were the result of a deeply reflective process guided by the English Department, whose faculty mentored students through idea development, storytelling techniques and public speaking skills.

Gracing the event as chief guest was Nisham Rayees, renowned public speaker and Oman FM broadcaster. Also present were Ahmed Rayees, President of the ISG School Management Committee; Sunil Kattakath, Convenor; Papri Ghosh, Principal of ISG; and Pyarija Cidar, Vice-Principal of ISG International.

The young speakers — Hrithik Sunilkumar, Keyanna Ann James, Mehreen Fatima Bhamla, Aradhana Rachel Roy, Jaden Lazarus Stephen, Ayaana Zakkir Hussain, Aliyah Chopra, Vivaan Gupta and Reuben Thomas John — captivated the audience with talks that were insightful and impressively articulate.

Nisham commended the students’ confidence and depth, describing the event as a “visionary platform that nurtures future leaders.” Beyond being a public speaking showcase, the TED-Ed programme at ISG reflects the school’s broader educational mission — to nurture critical thinking, creativity and confident communication. It stands as a testament to ISG International’s dedication to shaping globally minded youth through innovative learning opportunities. With this landmark achievement, ISG International has set a bold precedent for student-led discourse in Oman — ensuring that young voices are not just heard, but celebrated.
