

MUSCAT: Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidy, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, met with 27 newly appointed notaries who recently completed their designated training period. The meeting was held in the presence of Shaikh Issa bin Hamad al Azri, Secretary-General of the Council, as part of the Council’s efforts to strengthen notary offices with specialised personnel, improve operations, and expedite judicial transactions.
Sayyid Mohammed urged the new notaries to exert all efforts to enhance performance, utilise modern technologies and systems accurately, and accelerate the completion of notarial services. He encouraged them to embrace future technologies and keep pace with digital transformation in handling notarial transactions, emphasising the importance of accurately documenting legal instruments and declarations to ensure their legal validity.
Shaikh Issa reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to supporting notary offices with qualified human resources aligned with the Council’s vision for comprehensive digital transformation. This includes modernising notarial services to meet beneficiaries’ expectations with high-quality service delivery. He confirmed that the 27 new notaries underwent an intensive three-month training programme during which they learned work procedures, the use of the electronic notarisation system, and how to process transactions through video communication technology.
