X social media platform suffered a widespread outage on Saturday, marking its second major disruption in as many days. Millions of users worldwide reported issues accessing the website, app, and third-party tool XPro, with blank feeds and error messages stating, “Cannot retrieve posts at this time. Please try again later.”

The crash was also reported by several users in the Sultanate of Oman.

Downdetector, an outage-tracking service, recorded over 11,000 complaints in the UK and more than 25,000 in the US during peak disruption.

The crash follows a partial outage on Friday and a localised service failure across America’s East Coast on Thursday. Concerns mounted further after a fire broke out at a data centre in Oregon’s Hillsboro Technology Park, where X leases server space.

Digital Realty, the facility’s operator, confirmed the incident was contained and no injuries occurred, but did not clarify whether the fire contributed to the platform’s instability.

Reports from Reuters, citing Downdetector data, indicate that over 21,000 incidents were reported in the United States, while more than 10,800 disruptions were recorded in the United Kingdom.

In India, X suffered multiple outages, with service interruptions first occurring at 3:30 pm and then again at 9:00 pm. Downdetector recorded around 2,200 reports from Indian users during the first disruption, followed by another peak of 1,500 reports later in the evening.
