A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Geneva between the Ministry of Health of the Sultanate of Oman and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of the Philippines to enhance and develop health cooperation in accordance with mutual interests. The MoU includes exchange of useful information, expertise, best practices, health technology developments, primary care mechanisms and medical equipment, in addition to the exchange of scientific research and studies.


The MoU also included leveraging expertise and human resources and enhancing development activities of common interest to build the capacity of human resources working in the health sector.


The memorandum was signed by Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, while it was signed on behalf of the Philippines by Dr Teodoro Herbosa, Minister of Health.


This memorandum will expand cooperation in the medical field, as both countries' health strategies can be leveraged to enhance healthcare. - ONA
