MUSCAT: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority signed an agreement to establish three shelter centres in the wilayats of Al Suwaiq, Suhar and Sur. The aim is to provide a safe environment equipped with all necessary supplies to accommodate those affected by natural disasters and exceptional circumstances.


The agreement was signed by Maj Gen Abdullah bin Ali al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, and on behalf of the executing company, Zaher bin Said al Rashdi, Chief Executive Officer.


This step seeks to provide a secure and fully equipped environment for sheltering individuals impacted by natural events and emergencies. It also reflects Oman’s commitment to developing relief and shelter infrastructure, ensuring rapid and effective emergency response, and delivering humanitarian and logistical support. - ONA
