Muscat: Ahli Sidab confirmed their dominance in the Oman Hockey League (OHL) by securing a place in the final round with a perfect record, following a 2-0 victory over Al Nasr in the final match of the preliminary round held on Wednesday at the Hockey Oman Stadium in Al Amerat.

Both teams entered the match with different ambitions — Ahli Sidab aiming to confirm their top spot, while Al Nasr sought a positive result to improve their position on the table. The first half and the second quarter witnessed cautious defensive play from both sides, with only a few timid attempts that lacked real threat, ending the first half in a goalless draw.

In the third quarter, Ahli Sidab intensified their offensive pressure, and Rashad al Fazari capitalised on a precisely executed penalty corner to put his team ahead, ending the quarter with a 1-0 lead.

Ahli Sidab maintained control in the fourth quarter, with Haitham al Farsi doubling the lead in the 51st minute following a well-organised attack that he finished with a low shot into Al Nasr’s net. Al Nasr tried to respond in the final minutes but failed to make an impact.

The game started evenly, with both teams failing to create real threats in the first quarter, which ended goalless.

His teammate Imad al Hosni quickly followed with a second goal in the same minute, capitalising on defensive confusion from Salalah, ending the quarter with Seeb leading 2-0.

Salalah attempted a comeback in the third quarter through the efforts of Mohammed Abdullah and Hussein Hatim, but Seeb goalkeeper Amjad al Hosni denied their chances, maintaining Seeb’s 2-0 lead.

In the final quarter, Seeb continued their pressure and extended lead to 3-0 through a well-executed penalty corner by Waleed al Hosni in the 55th minute. Salalah managed to reduce the deficit with a goal by Muhannad Jassim in the 57th minute, but the match ended with a 3-1 win for Seeb.
