Sayyid Asaad delivers speech at Gulf-US summit

Riyadh: Representing His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Asaad bin Tarik al Said delivered a speech during the Gulf-US Summit held in Riyadh on Wednesday.


In his speech before the GCC leaders and the American President, Sayyid Asaad highlighted Oman’s vision for a prosperous and secure Middle East, expressing support for key international efforts to resolve longstanding conflicts.

Conveying the HM’s greetings and best wishes for the summit’s success, HH expressed hope that the gathering would contribute to shaping a better future for the region and solidifying a path of stability and prosperity for all nations.


Sayyid Asaad emphasised the strategic and long-term nature of Gulf-US relations, describing them as essential pillars for building security and economic growth.


He stressed the importance of mutual partnership and integration across political, economic, technological, and defense sectors, especially in times of crisis.


Speaking about humanitarian concerns, Sayyid Asaad said in the statement that Oman has voiced deep concern over the ongoing crisis in Gaza and the broader Palestinian territories.


Sayyid Asaad condemned the continued Israeli occupation and highlighted the failure of the international community to deliver justice.


He affirmed that a just and lasting peace in the region cannot be achieved without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.


The Omani representative also welcomed the United States’ diplomatic efforts in ending the conflict in Yemen, praising the constructive role of the U.S. President in paving the way toward peace in Yemen


Addressing regional tensions, Sayyid Asaad expressed optimism about the ongoing dialogue between the United States and Iran over nuclear weapons, describing it as a sign of mutual respect and realism.


He called for a practical, honorable, and sustainable agreement between both sides.


Oman also commended the U.S. administration’s commitment to diplomacy and deal-making over escalation and confrontation, calling it a model approach that supports stability and cooperation in the region.
