MUSCAT: The State Council Office held its fourth meeting of the second regular session of the eighth term, under the chairmanship of Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, on Tuesday.


The Office discussed a proposal submitted by Dr Aisha bint Hamad al Darmakiyah, a member of the State Council regarding a study on ‘The Demographic Structure and Its Impact on the Future of Development in the Sultanate of Oman’.


The meeting also reviewed a letter submitted by the Social and Cultural Committee regarding several aspects related to the State Council’s previous study on ‘Language Policies in the Sultanate of Oman’: Their Reality, Challenges, and Mechanisms for Their Development and Activation.’ In addition, the State Council’s Office reviewed reports submitted by the members of the State Council regarding their participation in regional and international events and forums. It also reviewed a follow-up report on the implementation of decisions in addition to a follow-up report on the State Council’s activities during the past period.


At the end of the meeting, the items enlisted in the State Council’s eighth session of the fourth session of the seventh term were determined. The meeting will address a number of topics of great importance to the future development of the Sultanate of Oman.
