

The Muscat International Book Fair 2025 will open on April 24, Thursday, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, in the presence of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU).
It was revealed at the press conference to reveal details of the exhibition and other events during the 29th edition, which will continue until May 3.

681041 titles from 674 publishing houses, including 213,610 foreign books,
467,413 Arabic books, 52,205 new releases, and 27,464 Omani books.
The fair will host 1,141 exhibition publications of 35 participating countries.
It will also include 155 children's activities and 211 cultural events.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information said that North al Sharqiyah Governorate will be the guest of honor at the exhibition, and cultural events and activities will be held to highlight its cultural and historical landmarks, scientific and humanitarian achievements, tourist destinations, and components of modern life in the governorate's wilayats.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information said the event will highlight the cultural, historical, scientific, and humanitarian legacy of North Al Sharqiyah, in addition to showcasing its contemporary lifestyle and key tourist attractions spread across its wilayats.
The fair’s cultural activities will be covered daily by local media, with live broadcasts planned for select events throughout the exhibition period.
The 28th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair saw the participation of 34 countries and 847 publishing houses, offering over 20,000 titles, including a remarkable collection of more than 19,000 Omani books. This year’s fair featured 847 publishing houses from 34 countries, with 676 participating directly and 171 represented through agencies.
The total number of cataloged titles reached 622,000, including 19,000 Omani books. It also showcased 35,989 modern publications from 2023 to 2024, comprising 269,000 Arabic books and 200,000 titles in foreign languages.
