MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, through its National Programme for Digital Transformation (Tahawul), has launched the Digital Accessibility Guide to promote inclusive digital services for all, including people with disabilities and the elderly.

The guide is designed to support developers in building mobile applications and websites that follow digital accessibility principles from the outset—making platforms easier to access and reducing the need for costly modifications later. It also helps organisations ensure their digital platforms are user-friendly and accessible to all segments of society.

Targeted at both public and private sector developers, the guide is a practical tool for project managers, UX/UI designers, software developers, digital content creators, accessibility specialists, and quality engineers. It also serves as a reference for decision-makers, senior management, and individuals or companies contracting developers.

The guide outlines key principles and best practices for achieving digital accessibility and provides methods for assessing accessibility levels in digital platforms.— ONA
