Muscat: A two-day workshop titled, “Green List Reserves,”organized by the Environment Authority of Oman in coordination with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is being held at Grand Hyatt Muscat. The objective of the workshop is to introduce the IUCN Green List standards to the protected areas and conservation community in Oman.
With a Unique biodiversity, Oman is home to more than 15,000 species of terrestrial and marine plant and animal species, including some rare endemic species as well as species of regional and international importance.
This workshop is part of the ongoing efforts to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040 in the field of environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation. It is being attended by a group of international experts, local specialists, and representatives of relevant authorities.
