The Fajr Initiative continues to inspire a generation towards disciplined, faith-filled lives. Marking the successful completion of its second phase, the award ceremony held on April 11, at Masjid Al Noor, Darsait, honoured over 100 children who completed a 40-day challenge of attending both Fajr and Isha prayers in congregation.

Children were recognised in Gold, Silver and Bronze categories, celebrating their steadfastness and devotion.

The event, attended by more than 200 community members, featured distinguished guests including Shaikh Salim al Ghammari, Shaikh Ibrahim Al Wahaibi and world-renowned Quran reciter Shaikh Saad Nomani Madani, whose soulful presence and speech deeply moved the gathering.

The ceremony highlighted the efforts of children, supportive parents and dedicated volunteers who ensured the programme’s smooth execution.

The Fajr Initiative team presented its growth — from five participants to hundreds — and encouraged replication of the model across Oman. The evening concluded with a heartfelt Dua for unity and peace, affirming the initiative’s greater mission: nurturing youth with purpose, values and a legacy of faith.

During the ceremony, the Fajr Initiative team presented an updated project report, showcasing the programme’s journey from its humble beginnings with just five children to a flourishing movement involving hundreds.

The team called on parents and local leaders across Oman to replicate the model in their own mosques and neighbourhoods.

"We honoured all children who participated in the challenge and most consistent children were awarded with Gold category followed by Silver and Bronze. The evening witnessed more than 200 attendees and reflected growing momentum, community engagement and a shared vision to raise a generation grounded in the love of prayers and spiritual values which can keep the youth away from vices," said one of the organisers.
