Queen Camilla makes fresh pasta as she visits a food market in Ravenna, during the last day of a state visit to Italy. Britain’s King Charles III has joked about living ‘long enough’ to see a tree he planted grow as he began the final day of his Italian state visit. Charles was in a jovial mood as he gave a sapling a start in life in the gardens of Villa Wolkonsky, the UK ambassador’s residence in Rome where the King and Queen had been staying. The Royal couple wrapped up a state visit to Italy on Thursday with a visit to Dante’s tomb and world-famous mosaics in Ravenna, the day after a surprise meeting with Pope Francis. Thousands of people waving British flags cheered as the king and queen arrived in the historic centre of the northeastern city on the fourth day of a trip that also saw Charles address Italy’s parliament. — AFP
