MUSCAT, APRIL 7

The 24th edition of the Global Higher Education Exhibition (GHEDEX) opened on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibition aims to showcase the latest academic and educational programmes, empower the education sector by attracting local and international educational institutions, and support students' aspirations in various fields.

This will contribute to developing an integrated educational environment that keeps pace with the latest global developments in the field of education. With the participation of more than 90 educational institutions from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman, the three-day event will continue until April 9.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqiyah, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

Amr bin Abdullah Baabood, CEO of Arabian Data Analytics, stated, "GHEDEX has become a pivotal platform for supporting education in the Sultanate of Oman and a vital window for connecting students and parents with educational institutions locally and internationally, contributing to shaping the future of education in Oman and the region."

Baabood added that the exhibition is not limited to introducing academic programmes only, but rather offers a comprehensive experience that includes unique accompanying events, such as conferences, workshops, student projects and career guidance sessions, in addition to activities that combine education and entertainment, enhancing its appeal and stimulating creativity among students.

The exhibition's activities are distributed across several main pavilions, most notably the local and international universities pavilion, the technical education and vocational training (TRINX) pavilion, the edu-X pavilion for private and international schools, and the edu-Tech pavilion for educational technologies and digital resources.

Dr Ahmed al Barashdi, Dean of Admissions and Registration at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, said that the university's participation in this exhibition aims to showcase its achievements, educational and academic programmes, and its potential to the community.

Maryam al Saadi, a twelfth-grade student, said: "Exhibitions like this help students, especially those in the twelfth grade, learn about universities, educational opportunities and educational fields that enable them to determine their university path and professional future."

Ali al Masrouri, a parent, emphasised that such exhibitions help parents learn about the latest developments in educational fields and the various universities that offer opportunities for our students to study there.
