MUSCAT: The second edition of Oman Water Week 2025 kicks off today, April 6, with a series of field visits highlighting key water infrastructure projects across the Sultanate of Oman. The event marks a major gathering for professionals and stakeholders in the water sector, offering a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and showcasing innovative solutions for water sustainability.

More than 2,500 participants are expected to attend the event, including over 100 international and regional speakers and more than 60 exhibitors representing over 25 countries. This positions Oman Water Week as one of the most influential events of its kind in the region.

The main conference will commence on Monday, April 8, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, under the auspices of HH Sayyid Dr Fahad bin Al Julanda al Said, Vice-Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University.

Organised by Nama Water Services, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the Public Services Regulatory Authority, the event aims to foster dialogue on the latest trends in water sustainability, technological innovation, and regulatory practices.

Qais bin Saud al Zakwani, CEO of Nama Water Services, emphasised that Oman Water Week provides a vital platform to review emerging solutions and to align efforts with Oman Vision 2040, which prioritises sustainable development and water security. He noted that the field visits reflect the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to balancing economic growth with environmental responsibility.

A range of seminars and workshops throughout the week will spotlight regional and global best practices, encouraging cooperation among government entities, industry leaders, researchers, and international organisations. The opening ceremony is expected to draw high-level participation from officials, experts, and water sector representatives from Oman, the wider GCC region, and beyond. — ONA
