

The Sultanate of Oman is the fifth safest country in the world in the 2025 Safety Index by Numbeo.
With a score of 81.7, Oman is only behind Taiwan (82.9), Qatar (84.2), United Arab Emirates (84.5), and Andorra (84.7).
The report states that the level of crime in Oman is very low, including worries about home broken and things stolen, worries about being mugged or robbed, worries about car stolen, worries about things from the car stolen.
With regards to safety, the index ranks safety walking alone during daylight as very high and safety walking alone during night as high.
The number one ranked Andorra is a tiny, independent principality situated between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains. It’s known for its ski resorts and a tax-haven status that encourages duty-free shopping.
Crime Index is an estimation of the overall level of crime in a given city or country. Crime levels lower than 20 as very low, crime levels between 20 and 40 as low, crime levels between 40 and 60 as moderate, crime levels between 60 and 80 as high, and crime levels higher than 80 as very high.
The safety index is, on the other hand, quite the opposite of the crime index. If the city has a high safety index, it is considered very safe.
The World Happiness Report for 2025, released recently, ranked the Sultanate of Oman has been ranked 52nd with a score of 6.147 out of 10, which is fourth in the Arab World
The report is based on a three-year average of each population’s average assessment of their quality of life.
The Sultanate of Oman's ranking surpasses a few major economies, including that of Japan (55), Korea (58), Bahrain (59), Malaysia (64), Türkiye (94), India (118), and Egypt (135).
