Salalah: The Municipal Council of Dhofar Governorate held a meeting under the chairmanship of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, on Monday.
The Municipal Council discussed a number of topics related to services and municipal work in the governorate and reviewed the recommendations of its standing committees.
The council reviewed the results of the visit of its team to the Al Aqar Neighborhood in the Wilayat of Nizwa to exchange experiences and learn about the best practices for developing heritage neighborhoods.
The council reviewed the recommendations of its standing committees including the recommendations of the joint meeting between the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee and the Governorate Development Committee regarding the expansion of the fishing port in the Wilayat of Mirbat aimed to enhance the port’s capacity and improve its services.
Other topics discussed at the meeting included, the results of the Social Affairs Committee’s meeting with specialists from the Dhofar Governorate Police Command. The meeting explored ways to facilitate procedures for obtaining driver’s license and vehicle equipment for people with physical disabilities. The council also discussed proposals for achieving the best solutions that serve people with physical disabilities.
The council reviewed the recommendations of the Legal Affairs Committee regarding the necessary measures to regulate price controls in shops within residential neighborhoods to ensure the availability of goods and services at reasonable prices.
