As the holy month of Ramadhan comes to the end, beauty salons and wellness centres around Oman are witnessing a sudden increase in demand, particularly from women eager to revive their appearance preparing for Eid.
From body contouring treatments to skin rejuvenation procedures, many see Ramadhan as the perfect opportunity for self-care and preparation for the celebration and festive season.
With fasting hours limiting food intake and promoting detoxification, many women believe Ramadhan is the ideal time to enhance their beauty routines. “In Ramadhan, I naturally lose weight, and combining this with body sculpting treatments helps me achieve my desired shape before Eid,” says Wafa al Shedi , a mother of four children. Skin treatments are also in high demand this period. “Fasting helps clear my skin, so I take advantage of this time to make facials and laser treatments to achieve a fresh, shining look,” said 28-year-old Aisha Naser.
Dr Manar Al Sad, a specialist at a leading beauty clinic in Muscat, confirms the trend. “We see a significant increase in clients seeking non-surgical procedures such as laser skin treatments, fillers, and body contouring. Ramadhan provides an opportunity for clients to recover from minor procedures before Eid celebrations.”
Nutritionists also highlight the benefits of combining Ramadhan fasting with professional treatments. “Fasting helps reset the body, and when paired with proper nutrition and hydration, it enhances the effects of aesthetic procedures,” says nutrition specialist Jawa Ali. She advises clients to focus on a balanced diet rich in hydration and essential nutrients to maximise the benefits of their treatments.
While many women embrace beauty treatments during Ramadhan, others believe in a more natural approach. “I prefer to focus on inner well being through spiritual and physical health rather than cosmetic procedures,” shares Hayfa, a 42-year-old teacher.
Dr Jawaher, a dentist comments: ”I saw women are competing to get the best look for Eid with different techniques. A quick treatment is demanded for beautiful smile and look.”
Despite differing opinions, beauty clinics continue to thrive during this period, offering special Ramadhan packages to cater to the rising demand. As Eid approaches, the blend of tradition and modern self-care practices reflects the evolving beauty culture among women in Oman.
With the growing trend of pre-Eid beauty preparations, one thing is clear, for many women. Ramadhan is not just a time of spiritual renewal but also an opportunity for self-enhancement and confidence as they step into the festive celebrations.
