State Council committee debates telecom bill

MUSCAT: The State Council’s Legal Committee on Monday discussed the report of the Technology and Innovation Committee on the Telecommunications and Information Technology Regulatory Bill referred by the Council of Ministers.

The Legal Committee held its fifteenth meeting of the second regular session of the eighth term under the chairmanship of Shaikh Sultan bin Matar al Azizi, Chairman of the Legal Committee, in the presence of the honourable members of the committee and a number of employees of the Secretariat- General. It reviewed the observations and views of the members of the Technology and Innovation Committee on the provisions of the draft law which aims to keep pace with local and global changes in the telecommunications and information technology sector.
