NAKHAL: The Wilayat of Nakhal in Al Batinah South Governorate recently celebrated the opening of the Ramadhan Village, themed 'Your Values Are a Trust.'
The initiative aims to promote and instill authentic Omani values, raising awareness of their importance in preserving cultural identity. The event, which was held under the auspices of Dr Mohammed bin Said al Maamari, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, featured a variety of community activities, religious guidance programmes and heritage exhibitions.
Dr Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed al Siyabi, Director of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Department in Al Batinah South, emphasised the continuation of the initiative’s success from its first edition. He highlighted the significance of spreading awareness about the preservation of Omani values to maintain a pure and strong value system within society.
The opening ceremony also featured a dialogue session focusing on the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of the community in the face of globalisation. The session underscored the necessity of instilling Omani values in children through an education system that promotes active citizenship.
Saeed bin Ali al Hakmani, a member of the Municipal Council in Nakhal, noted that the event is part of ongoing Ramadhan evenings in the Wilayat, bringing together residents and volunteers from across the governorate. They showcased several community initiatives and awareness-raising activities aimed at fostering a sense of unity and responsibility.
The ceremony also saw the launch of the Nakhal Zakat and Charity Committee’s waqf investment initiative, further cementing the village’s role as a hub for community-driven development during the holy month. — ONA
