MUSCAT: The Environment Authority (EA), in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), launched a three-day Zero Waste event to promote sustainable practices and environmental consciousness, aligning with Oman Vision 2040.
Marking World Zero Waste Day on March 30 - a UN-recognised initiative since 2022 - the event underscores Oman’s efforts in integrated waste management, recycling and pollution control.
Through interactive workshops, educational activities and an awareness pavilion, the initiative highlights the importance of reducing waste and encourages responsible consumption.
Eng Mohammed bin Saif al Kalbani, Director-General of Environmental Affairs at EA, reiterated Oman’s commitment to environmental preservation through policies, laws and strategies supporting sustainability.
