Majees Club secured a well-deserved victory over Masirah with a clean sweep of three sets to none at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
Majees’ standout performers included Hilal al Muqbali, professional player Kristian Arthur, and Waleed al Badi, who played a crucial role in dominating the match. On the other hand, Masirah’s duo, Ibrahim al Farsi and Hisham al Nasri, put in a strong performance, contributing to their team’s attempts to stay in contention.
Majees entered the match with high confidence, setting a fast-paced rhythm from the outset. They claimed the first set 25-17, giving them a strong momentum to maintain their dominance.
In the second set, Majees continued their aggressive attacking play, capitalising on their well-organised formation to secure another 25-17 victory, extending their lead to two sets to none.
The third set was highly competitive. Majees gradually clawed back, reducing the gap to a single point. The set remained intense until the final moments when Majees turned the tables, closing it out 26-24 to seal the match with a 3-0 win.
With this victory, Majees raised their tally to 8 points, securing second place, while Masirah remained in fifth place with no points. Al Bashayer clinched a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Al Salam after a five-set battle at Al Amal Club’s.
Al Salam started the match strongly, asserting dominance in the first set with powerful serves and precise attacks to claim it 25-16. However, Al Bashayer regained their composure in the second set, putting on a highly competitive performance. The teams exchanged the lead multiple times until the score reached 27-27. Eventually, Al Bashayer edged out a 29-27 win to level the match.
Building on their momentum, Al Bashayer controlled the third set and secured a 25-20 victory, moving one step closer to sealing the match. But Al Salam responded fiercely in the fourth set, delivering an impressive display to snatch a 26-24 win, forcing a decisive fifth set.
In the final set, Al Bashayer maintained their focus and dictated the pace from the start. They managed to take an early lead and maintain the gap, ultimately sealing the set 15-11 to claim a hard-fought but valuable victory. With this win, Al Bashayer now hold 4 points, placing them in fourth position, while Al Salam dropped to third place with 6 points.
