

MUSCAT: The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) launched the Ramadhan Sports Tournament for employees. The sporting event aims to strengthen the relationship among employees through a variety of engaging and enjoyable sports activities. The tournament featured wide range of sports including football for men employees and padel championship for women employees beside other entraining activities like volleyball and e-sports for men employees in collaboration with The Omani Committee for Games and Electronic Sports. This diverse lineup will allow greater number of employees to participate according to their sports interests.
This event acted as an opportunity to promote physical fitness and encourage employees to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle while fostering social connections in a competitive yet entertaining environment.
The tournament also aligns with the Authority’s commitment to supporting cancer patients and promoting sports participation among employees, reinforcing a positive work environment, teamwork and collaboration.
The tournament is expected to feature intense competition and high-level performances with participants showcasing their athletic skills and competitive spirit. Employees of the Authority will also be present to support and cheer for their colleagues, adding vibrant atmosphere to the event.
The organising committee confirmed that the tournament will run throughout the holy month of Ramadhan. The concluding ceremony will include delivering the awards to the winning teams as this event will emphasise the significance of sports and the promotion of positive values among employees.
