Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Environment Authority (EA), marked World Wildlife Day (WWD2025), which is celebrated on March 3 annually.

The WWD2025 celebration is held under the theme ‘Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet’ with the aim of building a resilient future for both humans and the planet.

Celebrating the World Wildlife Day represents an opportunity to raise awareness of the many benefits of wildlife and to reduce human encroachments due to its wide-ranging economic, environmental and social impacts. This year’s celebration also highlights the need to finance wildlife conservation measures considering the importance of investing in ecosystem integrity as well as maintaining clean air and water quality, supporting livelihoods, and setting controls on climate which requires mobilizing resources from the public and private sectors to conserve wildlife and their habitats and fulfilling financial obligations especially for countries experiencing biodiversity loss.
