MUSCAT: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Commercial Excellence Centre Committee convened its first meeting of 2025, marking a strategic push to develop Oman’s franchise ecosystem and support local brands in their expansion.
The meeting was chaired by Eng Hamoud bin Salem al Saadi, Second Deputy Chairman of the Chamber and Committee Chairman, who highlighted the centre’s role in sustaining Oman’s franchise development efforts. He noted that the initiative builds on the success of the Commercial Excellence Programme, which has helped Omani companies secure franchise agreements and enhance their competitiveness.
The committee’s agenda focuses on establishing a Franchise Centre, a decision endorsed by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The centre will provide:
a. Specialized support for businesses and entrepreneurs.
b. Comprehensive training and consultancy services for franchise development.
c. Strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Public Authority for SME Development, and the Development Bank.
d. Guidelines and resources to help Omani companies scale their businesses internationally.
“Our goal is to create an environment where Omani brands can thrive through franchising, unlocking new growth opportunities for local businesses while strengthening the national economy,” Al Saadi said.
The meeting featured presentations from franchise industry experts, including: Eng Fadhel al Nassar, CEO of Franchiseme, who discussed franchising’s economic impact on Oman. Yasser Qutli, CEO of Franchise Engineers Consulting, who outlined global best practices in franchise management.
Abdullah al Mahrouqi, CEO of Silsila Al Imtiaz, who shared insights on marketing strategies for Omani brands in collaboration with the Chamber.
The committee’s initiatives aim to enhance Oman’s franchise sector, support business scalability, and position Omani brands on the global stage. The Commercial Excellence Centre will serve as a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth, ensuring local companies benefit from structured expansion strategies and international franchise partnerships.
