

IBRI: A high-profile international media delegation is currently visiting Al Dhahirah Governorate to explore its rich historical sites, natural resources and ongoing development projects. The two-day tour, organised by the Ministry of Information and the Office of the Governor of Al Dhahirah, aims to showcase the governorate’s unique attractions and economic advancements.
The delegation comprises 30 journalists and media professionals representing prominent media outlets such as Al Jazeera, Qatar News Agency, Kuwait News Agency, Middle East News Agency, Bloomberg East, Saudi News Channel, Asharq Al Awsat, Xinhua News Agency and People’s Daily.
Their itinerary began with a visit to Al Dhahirah Shooting Club, where they explored its facilities and learned about its role in local sports. They also toured the Ibri Solar Power Station, gaining insight into its components and significance in Oman’s renewable energy sector.
A key highlight of the visit was a meeting with Shaikh Dr Said bin Humaid al Harthy, Wali of Ibri, who provided an overview of Al Dhahirah’s three wilayats, its strategic location, ongoing development projects, and its economic and industrial contributions.
The delegation also toured the Unesco-listed archaeological site of Bat, where they received a comprehensive briefing on its historical significance and ancient civilisation. This initiative serves as an opportunity to highlight Al Dhahirah’s tourism potential, economic progress and cultural heritage on a global scale. - ONA
