

MUSCAT: Qatar’s Al Rayyan SC will take on Kuwait SC in the first semifinal of 41st Gulf Club Handball Championship on Saturday while Al Arabi SC from Qatar will face Saudi Arabia Al Noor SC in the second semifinal. Both matches will be held at the indoor hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex as the first match will start at 4:30 pm and be followed by the second game at 6:30 pm. Ahead of the semifinals, Seeb will meet Dibba Al Huson from the UAE in the sixth and seventh position playoff. The match will be played at 2:30 pm.
The favourites Al Rayyan SC will target to secure spot in the final. The Qatari club ended their group matches at the top places by securing two convincing victories against Al Noor SC by 31-26 and against Seeb at 31-19.
On the other side, Kuwait SC will work hard also to book slot in the final in order to get inch closer to the title. The Kuwaiti team earned their place in the semifinals by defeating Oman Club by 32-26 in a thrilling group-stage encounter. Earlier, they suffered a narrow 34-33 defeat against Al Arabi SC but bounced back with a 34-22 victory over Dibba Al Huson.
In the second semifinal, Group B toppers Al Arabi SC take on Al Noor, looking to confirm their dominance and secure a place in the final. Al Arabi impressed during the group stage, winning all their matches against Dibba Al Huson, Oman Club and Kuwait SC and ended at the top spot in their group. The Qatari side will be aiming to maintain their winning momentum and continue their strong form.
