

MUSCAT: As part of its efforts to strengthen partnerships with international higher education institutions, the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) has signed an academic affiliation agreement with the University of Portsmouth, UK. This collaboration will introduce two bachelor's degree programmes — Accounting & Finance and Business & Management — starting this September.
The agreement was signed by Dr Zahran bin Salem al Salti, Dean of CBFS, and Dr Chris Chang, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement & Student Life) at the University of Portsmouth.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr Zahran stated: "International collaboration and educational partnerships have become key elements in enhancing the quality of academic outcomes and providing advanced curricula aligned with the future job market. Through this partnership, we aim to boost the college’s global competitiveness by promoting our graduates, expanding opportunities for international students and faculty, and fostering knowledge exchange, which will strengthen CBFS’s position in the academic landscape."
It is worth noting that the University of Portsmouth is one of the UK's most prestigious institutions, recognised for its academic excellence and high-quality educational programmes in global rankings.
