MUSCAT: The Omani-Saudi Business Council convened its first meeting of the year in Muscat, focusing on boosting trade through the Rub’ al-Khali port, a key commercial link between the two nations.


The meeting was chaired by Shaikh Ali bin Hamad al Kalbani, Head of the Omani side, alongside Nasser bin Saeed al Hajri, Head of the Saudi side, with participation from council members.


Shaikh al Kalbani emphasised the meeting’s role in advancing Omani-Saudi economic integration, aligning with the strategic visions of both countries. He noted that the Council seeks to foster stronger ties between the private sector and government agencies, ensuring a conducive environment for mutual investment.


Al Hajri highlighted the significance of economic collaboration in achieving sustainable development, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and Oman Vision 2040. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to enhancing trade partnerships and unlocking new investment opportunities.


The meeting underscored the importance of addressing challenges faced by investors and expanding trade cooperation across various sectors. — ONA
