

Muscat: The Ministry of Information is currently hosting a media group comprising as many as 26 journalists, photographers and eeditors-in-chief representing 16 media institutions from 10 countries around the world between February 17 to 24, with the aim of highlighting the cultural, historical and natural diversity and richness of the Sultanate of Oman.
These journalists, representing different countries of the world such as China, Russia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and others, are touring through the governorates of Musandam, Buraimi and Al Dhahira and are introduced to the cultural, civilisational, historical and natural components as well as economic and social development of the country.
Sanaa al Zahrani from the Saudi Ministry of Information - Saudi Broadcasting Corporation / Al-Ekhbariya Channel said that her expectations since childhood about Oman that the country is a calm, reassuring, comfortable and touristic place has been fully underlined with the visit.
"I was shocked and surprised that the truth exceeded all expectations. It is indeed a wonderful model that embodies the meanings of calm, reassurance, peace and harmony in the most beautiful image and appearance and a legendary and charming tourist destination that combines the mountainous and marine environment, greenery and trees as is the case in the place where we live these days," she said.
She felt that in addition to the pristine natural scenery, it is a medicine for the soul and a balm for every tourist and visitor with its natural atmosphere and fresh air that inspires joy, reassurance and pleasure in the soul. The Sultanate of Oman, with all its diverse features, has harmonised with its people to appear in this beautiful symbol that added beauty to the country.

We witnessed the hospitality and distinguished organisation that reflects the keenness to show the true image of this beautiful country. The efforts made are clear in every detail, whether in the advanced infrastructure or in preserving the rich heritage and culture. The Sultanate of Oman combines authenticity and progress in a unique way, and we are grateful for this opportunity to discover it up close," averred Mona al Mahrouqi, Editor-in-Chief of Al Arab Newspaper, London.
Speaking to the Observer, Shaikha al Mahrouqiya, from the Directorate General of Foreign Media said that the media delegation from 10 countries was given a rousing welcome at the Khasab Airport.
“The visit is part of our efforts in highlighting the cultural, historical and natural diversity and richness of the Sultanate of Oman to the outside world. The media delegation was given a befitting welcome and was led to the Khasab Castle and where they were given first-hand information about Musandam's history followed by a visit to Oman Adventure Center, Jebel Fatt zip line, the waterfront at Bada Beach, Bukha and the waterfront project. Later in the Wilayat of Bukha, they visited the waterfront project and the Hal Beach,” she said.
On Monday, they were introduced to the traditional weapons shooting event in the governorate where they were welcomed by Al Sayyid, the Governor and engaged in the discussion of tourism development plans in the governorate followed by a visit to Khor Al Najd.
A tour along the Ras Amoud Resort Project followed, then the delegation sailed to the mountain stairs area, and climbed the mountain separating the Sea of Oman and the Arabian Gulf. Later, the media was led to the Tour of Khor Sham and lunch
On Tuesday, today, the media delegation will visit Kumzar Village and the Strait of Hormuz from Khasab Port. This will be followed by visit to Kumzar Majlis.
On Wednesday will depart via Khasab Port by ferry to Lima District and then to Dibba state followed by a return trip to Wilayat Shinas via ferry.
