Muscat: Oman Air has clarified reports of high airfares on domestic Muscat-Salalah routes across various social media platforms.

The company said in a statement, "Keeping in mind the guidelines of the government and the efforts of the company's board of directors, Oman Air has been applying the fixed price in the economy class for Omans throughout the year."

The fares in the Economy Saver category are RO61 for a round trip, 7 kg cabin baggage without checked baggage, and in the Economy Flexible category: RO 64 per round trip, 7 kg cabin baggage, 20 kg checked baggage.

Oman Air said it provides various schedules and travel options in the (Value Economy) category at RO87 for 30kg checked baggage) and also wider options in the business class, giving travelers more flexibility with additional benefits including additional weight.

The airline said that business class fares on some flights are traded as economy class fares, especially when economy class seats are fully booked.

"Oman Air is the largest operator of flights to Dhofar Governorate, with five daily flights, which goes up to around 12 daily flights during the Khareef and other important seasons."

To benefit from the fixed pricing for Omanis and ensure obtaining a seat in economy class, the airline urges everyone to book their flights in advance via the website or via mobile phone application, especially during peak seasons.
