MUSCAT: The Supervisory Committee for the Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030) convened its second meeting of the year in Muscat, led by Dr Said bin Mohammed al Saqri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Committee, to assess the plan’s preparation progress.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the executive status of the plan, highlighting advancements in its development stages. A total of 14 central technical teams, comprising 281 members from 100 government and private entities, civil society institutions, and individuals, have been actively involved in the process. Their work follows a structured timeline covering three key phases: analyzing the current landscape, identifying challenges, and formulating strategic programs aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
The discussion emphasised the need to integrate programs and projects that align with the priorities and indicators of Oman Vision 2040. Special focus was placed on fostering projects that contribute added value to the national economy and generate employment opportunities for citizens.
Additionally, the committee assessed progress in shaping the financial and economic framework of the plan, explored future directions, and outlined upcoming steps to ensure the development of a well-rounded strategy. The meeting underscored the importance of sectoral integration to drive sustainable growth and fulfill the aspirations of Oman Vision 2040. — ONA
