Oman Club claimed a crucial 3-0 victory over Al Nasr in the 14th round of the Omantel League at the Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah on Monday .
The first half saw a balanced performance from both teams, with each side exchanging opportunities but failing to break the deadlock. However, at the start of the second half, Oman Club asserted their dominance, with Azan al Tamimi opening the scoring in the 59th minute after capitalising on a precise pass inside the penalty area.
Oman continued their pressure in the final minutes, with Faisal al Buraiki netting the second goal in the 85th minute before sealing the victory with a third goal in the 95th minute.
With this win, Oman Club raised their tally to 28 points, maintaining their third place on the league table. Meanwhile, Al Nasr remained at 17 points in fifth.
SEEB BEAT SUR
Seeb continued their impressive run, securing an important 2-1 victory against Sur at Sur Sports Complex.
Seeb started the match with strong attacking pressure, which paid off in the 37th minute when Amjad al Harthy scored the opening goal. The first half ended with Seeb leading 1-0. However, Sur came into the second half with renewed energy and managed to equalise in the 62nd minute through Foday Darbo.
Despite the setback, Seeb bounced back in the final minutes, with Abu Kamara scoring the winning goal in the 85th minute, securing three valuable points for his team.
With this result, Seeb extended their lead at the top of the table with 37 points, while Sur remained in 11th place with 9 points, keeping them in danger of relegation.
AL SHABAB HOLD AL NAHDA
Al Shabab managed to snatch a valuable point against Al Nahda, holding them to a 1-1 draw at Al Rustaq Sports Complex.
Al Nahda started the match strongly, controlling the first half and taking the lead in the 36th minute through their professional player Al Haj Malik. The first half ended with Al Nahda ahead 1-0.
However, Al Shabab improved in the second half and managed to level the score in the 57th minute through Mohammed al Ghafri. Both teams pushed for a late winner, but the match ended in a draw.
Following this result, Al Shabab raised their tally to 17 points, climbing to fifth in the overall standings. Al Nahda have 32 points, maintaining second place but falling five points behind league leaders Seeb.
AL RUSTAQ OUT OF RELEGATION
Al Rustaq earned a 2-0 victory over Saham at Sohar Sports Complex.
The first half was evenly contested, with both teams adopting a cautious approach and creating a few attacking chances that did not materialise into goals.
In the second half, Al Rustaq took control, with Arseni Loko breaking the deadlock in the 51st minute. The team continued their dominance and Ammar al Shiyadi secured the win with a second goal in the 75th minute after a well-organised attacking play.
This victory lifted Al Rustaq to 11 points, moving them up to 10th place after spending a long period at the bottom of the table. Saham remained at 17 points, dropping to eighth place.
