KUWAIT: Represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the Sultanate of Oman on Thursday took part in the ninth meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Food Safety, hosted by the State of Kuwait.


Oman's delegation was headed by Dr Saud Hamoud al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.


The meeting discussed the GCC unified food law (system) and the GCC guide on monitoring imported foods, among other issues.


On the sidelines of the meeting, Al Habsi conferred with Hisham Saad Al Jadhey, CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).


The meeting also looked into options for promoting joint cooperation and knowledge transfer, besides benefiting from experiences in implementing global systems of food safety and encouraging trade exchange between the two countries. - ONA
