MUSCAT: A franchise meeting organised on Thursday by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) saw the signing of 13 agreements for the sale of franchise in the Sultanate of Oman and abroad.

The meeting, titled "Agreements and Development", also included the signing of 3 memoranda of understanding (MoU) with new trademarks taking part in the third edition of the Franchise Initiative.

The signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding serve as outcomes of the 3rd edition of the Commercial Franchise Programme, which aims to qualify business owners and Omani companies to benefit from the advantages and opportunities of commercial franchise.

The programme also seeks to upgrade innovation and entrepreneurship by providing advanced training workshops on how to adopt a culture of innovation in supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), manage franchise projects, thus enabling them to access new markets.

In addition, it helps generate sustainable employment opportunities and diversify sources of economic income, and this will in turn contribute to expanding the base of economic diversification and enhancing the Sultanate of Oman’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
