Salalah records highest temperature in January, Saiq the lowest

Muscat:The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has released temperature statistics for January 2025 on Thursday, highlighting significant variations across the Sultanate.


According to the report, the highest temperature recorded during the month of January was 33°C in Salalah, followed closely by al Jazir (32.8°C), Umm al Zamayem (32.2°C), Shaleem (32.1°C), and Dima W'attayeen (32°C).


On the other hand, the lowest temperatures were registered in Saiq, where the mercury dropped to 1.5°C.


Other notably low temperatures included 4°C in Maqshan, 5.6°C in Al Mazyouna, 6.3°C in Marmul, and 6.5°C in Haima.


Oman’s Met Office said earlier during the month of January that a cold weather front was expected to impact Oman, bringing a mix of weather changes, including significant temperature drops, rainfall, and strong winds.
