MUSCAT: The 29th Assarain Golf Classic, one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in Oman, will take place at the Ghala Golf Club on February 7 and 8. More than 130 golfers have registered for the tournament, as per the organisers.
According to a statement by the organisers, the Assarain Golf Classic, sponsored by Assarain Group of Companies, is a premium golfing event that gives amateur golfers the opportunity to participate in a professional tournament that meets international golfing standards. The Assarain Golf Classic is one of the largest tournaments organised by the Ghala Golf Club every year, in which a large number of players from all communities in Oman and from the Gulf Cooperation Council participate.
Ibrahim al Wahaibi, Director, Assarain Group of Companies, and the pioneer of the Assarain Golf Classic, said: “We support golf and are committed to helping the game flourish in Oman. The 36-hole competition is one of the largest golfing tournaments in the region and is open to all players with a verifiable handicap. Another not-to-be-missed attraction will be the colourful presentation ceremony planned for February 8 to felicitate the winners of different categories, where there are surprises waiting for the golfers!
