MUSCAT: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has commenced the second round of its public opinion survey on healthcare services. The survey aims to assess public satisfaction with the quality of medical care provided by both government and private health institutions in Oman.
Susan bint Dawood Al Lawati, Director General of Information at NCSI, highlighted that these surveys play a crucial role in evaluating government services, aiding decision-making, and enhancing service quality. She noted that the initiative aligns with the third goal of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals - good health and well-being.
Findings from the first survey, conducted in May 2024, revealed that 73.4 per cent of citizens and residents were satisfied with healthcare services, while satisfaction levels for doctors and pharmaceutical services stood at 73.8 per cent and 76.2 per cent, respectively. The current survey, running until March 15, will assess general satisfaction with healthcare institutions, medical staff, and pharmaceutical services. It will also track improvements since the previous survey, providing valuable data to help authorities enhance healthcare quality in the Sultanate. - ONA
