CAIRO: The Sultanate of Oman's pavilion, the guest of honour at the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, continues to captivate visitors at the fairgrounds in New Cairo. As the exhibition runs until February 5, the pavilion witnessed a remarkable turnout on the fourth day, drawing attendees from all walks of life.
A major highlight was the Omani Encyclopedia, published by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, which attracted significant interest — particularly from young visitors eager to explore the rich tapestry of Omani heritage. Many paused to take souvenir photos in front of the display while learning about the encyclopedia’s extensive coverage of Omani traditions, including traditional attire, decorative clothing, cuisine, time-honoured customs, folklore, artisanal industries and other cultural aspects spanning the past and present.
Visitors expressed admiration for the encyclopedia, noting its wealth of cultural diversity, which exceeded their expectations. Meanwhile, the display of rare Omani manuscripts also garnered considerable interest, drawing visitors who were keen to capture the moment with photographs.
To further enhance the experience, the management of the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion is distributing commemorative brochures featuring images that showcase the country's breathtaking landscapes, rich heritage and vibrant tourism offerings. — ONA
