Muscat: Al Rustaq and Oman Club settled for a goalless draw in their clash on Saturday at Seeb Sports Stadium, as part of the 13th round of the Oman Football League. The match saw Oman Club dominate possession and dictate the tempo of play, relying on ball control and structured attacks, while Al Rustaq opted for long-ball tactics from the back to the front. Oman Club came close to converting their dominance into goals during the first half, creating several dangerous opportunities. The most notable chance came in the sixth minute when professional player Itur Daniel struck a powerful indirect free kick, but luck was not on his side. On the other hand, Al Rustaq was not far from scoring either, as they threatened Oman Club’s goal on multiple occasions. However, the first half ended in a goalless stalemate. In the second half, both teams continued their efforts to break the deadlock, but the lack of attacking efficiency and solid defensive performances from both sides kept the score unchanged, resulting in a 0-0 draw. With this draw, Oman Club raised their tally to 25 points, maintaining their position in third place in the league standings. Meanwhile, Al Rustaq reached eight points but remained at the bottom of the table in 12th place, still in the relegation danger zone.

Another goalless draw between Sur and Al Khabourah
In another match, Sur and Al Khabourah also played to a goalless draw at Rustaq Sports Complex. Al Khabourah entered the match with an attacking mindset, utilising the speed of their wingers to penetrate Sur’s defence. They managed to create several clear chances, but Sur’s goalkeeper showcased exceptional reflexes, including saving a dangerous header in the 35th minute that narrowly missed the post. On the other hand, Sur relied on counterattacks, taking advantage of the movements of their foreign striker. However, they struggled with finishing in front of goal, missing a golden opportunity to score. The second half remained evenly contested, though Sur showed some improvement by increasing their offensive pressure on Al Khabourah’s defence. They came close to snatching a late winner, but Al Khabourah’s defence and goalkeeper stood firm to maintain a clean sheet. With this result, Al Khabourah increased their tally to 17 points, placing them fifth in the standings, just one point behind Bahla in fourth. Meanwhile, Sur climbed to nine points but remained in 11th place, still within the relegation zone.
