MUSCAT: A groundbreaking agreement has been signed to establish a state-of-the-art animal vaccine production factory in Khazaen Economic City, South Al Batinah Governorate. The Technology Company for Medical and Educational Supplies will spearhead the project, with an investment exceeding RO 15 million.

Eng Salem bin Sulaiman al Dhahli, CEO of Khazaen Economic City, and Dr Mamdouh Aqeed, CEO of the company, formalised the agreement, which allocates 10,000 square meters for the facility. The factory is expected to produce two billion vaccines annually, bolstering Oman’s food security system and enhancing biosecurity programs for animal health.

The project aims to achieve self-sufficiency in veterinary vaccines, reduce reliance on imports, and position Oman as a global player in vaccine production. It will cater to local demand while exporting to international markets, contributing to sustainable economic growth.
