MUSCAT: The Promising Omani Startups Accelerator marked the graduation of its latest cohort in a ceremony held on January 28, 2025. The program, run in partnership with the Authority for SME Development and Madayn’s Industrial Innovation Academy, supports young entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses.

Abdul Salam bin Mohammed al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, inaugurated the event, emphasising the importance of youth-driven innovations in bolstering Oman’s digital economy and contributing to GDP growth. He noted that several projects have reached export-level maturity.

The graduating batch consisted of 26 startups specialising in sectors such as tourism, real estate, health, and food security. Over four months, participants received 290 hours of training on entrepreneurship, marketing, investment readiness, and product development. Eight products from the idea track and 13 from the pre-seed track were developed to market-ready standards.

Halima bint Rashid al Zar’iyah, Chairperson of the SME Development Authority, affirmed continued support for startups and announced plans to expand the program to multiple governorates with specialized accelerators.
