

Muscat Nights, Oman's major public event that showcases tradition, culture, gastronomic delights, arts, and culture from countries around the world, has attracted more than a million visitors since it opened a month ago, according to the Muscat Municipality, the key organiser of the event.
The festivities, which were extended until February 1, have been witnessing a large number of visitors at various locations, reaching a whopping number of footfalls.

"We have seen an increasing number of visitors at all 7 major venues of the festival, and the latest count shows that it has reached a massive one million visitors. This is thanks to the sponsors, stakeholders, and the people who have frequented the venues," a Municipality spokesperson commented.
The events of Muscat Nights, which are being staged at diverse locations in different parts of the region such as Naseem Park, Wadi al Khoudh, Seeb Beach-Sur al Hadid, Oman Automobile Association, Qurm Natural Park and Al Amerat Public Park since December 23, have seen a steady stream of visitors from 4 pm onwards.
Crowds swarm around the venue at Naseem Park, where fireworks, car drifts, laser shows, horror shows, a carnival, consumer fair, theater performances, and a heritage village have been some of the biggest crowd-pullers.
Wadi Al Khoudh has been showcasing mountain walking treks, an SUV challenge, sports activities, a trampoline, and a zipline, and is not lacking in terms of number of visitors.
A wide variety of activities are also being held at Seeb Beach-Sur al Hadid, such as food stalls, games, beach volleyball, a marine heritage village, an international sculpture competition, giant chess, fire shows, musical performances, and marine arts, making it an ideal entertainment location for families.
The Oman Automobile Association has been hosting the city carnival, Muscat Billiards and Snooker Championship, and karting championship among others, providing an adrenaline rush for youngsters.
Al Amerat Park, which has been hosting electric games, a children's car track, theater and carnival shows, a consumer exhibition, and a heritage village, is displaying the true essence of Omani life and has been frequented by families in large numbers.
